Ingredients
- 1 kg. carrots
- 6 Basil leaves
- 2 CDAS. sugar
- 6 Pepper seeds
- 1 cinnamon sprig
- 4 cloves
- the rind of a lemon
- 1/2 TSP. nutmeg
- oil
- 4 cups of water
- white wine vinegar
- 1 pinch of salt
Instructions
- Peel and cut the carrots to your liking. Put a saucepan on the fire with 4 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Add the carrots and let them boil for 8 minutes. Drain them and leave them on a tea towel.
- Distribute carrots in airtight jars, which must be clean and dry. Distribute basil equitably, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, nail, pepper and lemon rind.
- Fill the jar with the carrots and leave a space between the mouth of the container and the carrots. Cover the contents with vinegar and pour a light layer of oil.
- Hermetically close the bottle. Store it in a dry, dark place. Wait 30 days before opening the bottle. Serve as a garnish for meats.
