Lettuce wrap & Chicken in tamarind sauce

Light and very easy of preparation!. An explosion of intense flavors in perfect harmony!.
Perhaps look you many ingredients but it takes very little of each.
You can serve it with a variety of lettuces and even sauces.

I used imported lettuce, It's beautiful and has a subtle flavor being strong at the same time. You can use Roman or even iceberg if you want. Only wash them well, dry with paper towels and decorate them on a nice platter. You don't have to put anything on them, There are enough flavor in the chicken and sauce.

Prepare the sauce for the chicken and let marinate at least 30 minutes in which prepares tamarind sauce and cashew seeds. My recipe is with boneless chicken thighs (they have better taste ;) ) but can make them equal with breasts, keep the chicken in small pieces. It looks better and is more practical in this case.

May not know some of the ingredients but although I have seen them in most large supermarkets, insurance can get them equally in any specialized Chinese supermarket

Ingredients for 2 people:

• 500 grams of chicken thighs boned and cut

To marinate the chicken:

• 1/4 Cup of soy sauce
• 2 CDAS. Persian lime juice
• 2 well chopped cloves of garlic
• 1 CDA. finely chopped ginger
• 3/4 of TSP. of red pepper flakes
• 2 CDAS. water
• 1/4 cup chopped shallots or green puerrito

For the tamarind sauce & Cashew seeds

• 1/4 cup chopped cashew seeds
• 1 CDA. hoisin sauce
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 1/4 cup chopped shallots or green puerrito
• 1/2 TSP. black pepper
• 1/4 of TSP. cayenne pepper
• 1/4 Cup of canola oil
• 3 CDAS. honey
• 6 CDAS. rice wine vinegar
• 2 CDAS. tamarind pulp
• 1/2 CDA. toasted sesame seeds


Cut chicken into small parts legs.
In a bowl, put soy sauce, lemon, garlic, the ginger, the red pepper flakes, the puerrito and the water and mix. Add the chicken and let marinate at least 30 minutes. Move it from time to time to ensure that the chicken absorb the mixture.

While in a blender or food processor, put the hoisin sauce, Cashew seeds, the teeth of garlic, the puerrito, Peppers and blend.

Apart, place the canola oil in a saucepan and add the honey, the of tamarind and rice wine vinegar and stir for a minute until dissolve tamarind. You don't have to boil. At this point try the sauce to be sure that you have a balanced flavor.

The tamarind pulp that appears in our supermarkets usually comes with seeds and thousand roots. This %s which and once dissolved, pass it through a sieve and add it to your blender with the remaining ingredients; blend again until a couple and dark sauce. Again through a sieve and serve in a small bowl.

Place sesame seeds in a small frying pan and brown them over medium heat with great care not to burn them. Once ready, put above sauce. Reserve some for chicken.

In a frying pan well heat sauté the chicken with a little canola oil. Place and does not move them too. Is a common mistake to want to touch meat, which only makes them to be hard. Leave to cook and turn them with a pair of pliers. Once ready to serve with a little sesame seed.

Serve separately and each who prepare their wrap.
You can use a variety of lettuce if you prefer, as well as chicken breasts instead of thighs
I used no salt at all because soy provides sufficient. Use a quality soy sauce.
