Ingredients
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 200 g sugar
  • 125 g light syrup
  • 75 g peeled and chopped almonds
  • 75 g of chopped candied lemon rind
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground aromatic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 7 g potassium carbonate
  • 500 g flour
For the oven tray
  • butter or margarine
Instructions
  1. Bring the butter or margarine with the sugar and syrup to a boil. Remove from heat and add the almonds, the candied lemon rind, nail, cinnamon and ginger.
  2. Dissolve the potassium carbonate in a little boiling water. Add to the syrup batter and let cool. Sift the flour over the top and knead.
  3. Form the dough into two rounded bars, Wrap them in aluminum foil or beard paper and let them rest for 24 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Brush one or two baking trays with butter or margarine. Heat oven to 200 degrees. Cut the dough into slices of equal size and place them on the baking sheet at a distance from each other. Cook 8-10 minutes to half-height. Remove from the tray with a wide knife and leave to cool on a wire rack.
