Ingredients
  • 200 g of pitted prunes
  • 300 g of dried pears
  • 200 g of dried figs
  • 1 l water
On the other hand
  • 100 g of hazelnuts
  • 100 g of walnuts
  • 100 g of raisins
  • 100 g currants
  • 50 g candied lemon rind cut into small cubes
  • 50 g of bark of candied orange cut into small cubes
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • a pinch of pepper of Jamaica, ground anise and salt
  • 2 tablespoons of rum
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
On the other hand
  • 100 g of black bakery bread dough
  • 200 g flour
  • 50 g almonds, peeled and halved
  • 60 g mixed dried candied fruits
For the oven tray
  • butter or margarine
Instructions
  1. Pour the water over plums. pears and figs and let soak overnight. Grease from the oven with butter or margarine. Drain in a colander and soft fruits and cut into very small dice. Chop the hazelnuts and walnuts into very small pieces. Mix the raisins, currants and barks of lemon and orange candied fruits and Pecans, Add the sugar, cinnamon, Jamaica pepper, anise, Salt, the rum and lemon juice, mix well and let stand covered for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oven to 180 degrees. Work the mass of fruits with the mass of black bread and the sifted flour. Form two loaves with dough, putting your hands in cold water and smooth breads.
  3. Garnish with half almonds and candied fruits following the model of the photo.
  4. Place the loaves in the oven tray and bake in the lower part during 70-80 minutes.
Notes
  • If there is one of the varieties of fruit indicated the amounts of other fruits may increase conveniently. In any case should be taken care of that part of the dough have clear fruit and the other dark.
  • In all other respects, fruit breads are kept fresh and juicy for a long time if well stored in a container or aluminum foil.
