Ingredients
- 1 1/4 Cup of red lentils
- 2 tablespoons of ghee (clarified butter)
- 1 fine chopped onion
- 2 smashed garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground curcurna
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
Instructions
- Soak the lentils for 5 minutes in a large bowl with cold water, remove the foam and drain well.
- Heat the ghee in a pan and saute the onion over medium heat a few 3 minutes, or until it is soft and Golden. Add the ginger garlic and spices and sauté until they give off their scent.
- Add the lentils and 2 cups of water; When break to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for 15 minutes, or until it just becomes liquid; the dhal should be thick. Add the Mint, stir well and serve with naan bread (style pita).
