Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee or oil
  • 1 medium onion, in thin strips
  • 1 1/2 cups of long-grain rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups of boiling water
Instructions
  1. Heat ghee in a medium skillet with a lid that closes tightly.
  2. Saute the onion until well browned; take it out and pour it into a plate. Sing the rice for a 2 minutes in the ghee, continually stirring.
  3. Add salt and boiling water and let uncovered until water evaporates and start to soose the rice on the surface. Tapelo, minimize the heat and let other cooks 15 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid, fluff the rice with a fork and let it release the steam. Pass it to a fountain and attach it with the onion strips you had reserved.
Notes
  • Prepare this dish just before serving. Rice is an ingressant that offers endless possibilities to combine with most spices.
